VesselReady Terms of Use

Last updated 16 October 2026 · Effective date: 16 October 2026 · Version: 2026-10-16-v2

1. About VesselReady

VesselReady is an online vessel-management service operated by Bulldog Marine Pty Ltd ("VesselReady", "we", "us" or "our"). It helps boat owners and authorised users organise vessel information, maintenance, safety records, documents, reminders, schedules, shared costs, logbook information and related records.

These Terms govern your use of VesselReady. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

2. Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 18 years old and have legal capacity to enter into these Terms.

You are responsible for:

  • providing accurate account information;
  • keeping your login credentials secure;
  • activity carried out through your account, except where caused by our breach or security failure; and
  • promptly telling us if you believe your account has been compromised.

You must not share login credentials. Use VesselReady's member and invitation features to give another person authorised access to a vessel.

3. Authority to add vessels, people and records

You must only add, upload, share or manage information where you have the right or authority to do so. This includes vessel records, personal information about co-owners or crew, insurance information, photographs, invoices, survey reports and other documents.

If you invite another person to a vessel, you are responsible for choosing an appropriate access role. Access rights may differ between primary owners, co-owners, skippers, regular users and viewers.

4. What VesselReady is — and is not

VesselReady is a record-keeping, organisation and reminder tool. It is not:

  • a marine survey;
  • a certificate of seaworthiness, safety or regulatory compliance;
  • an insurer, insurance broker or underwriting service;
  • a substitute for a qualified marine surveyor, mechanic, electrician or other competent professional;
  • a substitute for manufacturer instructions, maintenance schedules or warranties;
  • a navigation system, weather service or emergency service; or
  • a substitute for requirements imposed by maritime authorities, laws, regulations, insurers, marinas or other relevant bodies.

You remain responsible for the vessel, its condition, maintenance, compliance, safe operation and the decision whether to depart or continue a voyage.

5. Pre-departure checks and safety information

Pre-departure checklists and safety reminders are provided as organisational aids only. They may not cover every item required for a particular vessel, voyage, jurisdiction, weather condition or operating circumstance.

A completed checklist does not mean that a vessel is safe, seaworthy or legally compliant. The skipper and owner remain responsible for carrying out all checks appropriate to the vessel and voyage and for complying with applicable laws and manufacturer requirements.

Do not rely on VesselReady in an emergency. Use appropriate emergency services and maritime safety channels.

6. Boat Health Score and automated information

VesselReady may calculate a Boat Health Score, status indicators, reminders, priority levels and other rule-based or automated information from records in the service.

These outputs are informational only. They are not a survey, safety certification, insurance risk rating, underwriting decision or guarantee of vessel condition. VesselReady does not currently use the Boat Health Score to make binding decisions about insurance, pricing, access, eligibility or seaworthiness.

Automated outputs depend on the information in the service and may be incomplete or inaccurate if records are missing, outdated or incorrect.

7. AI-assisted features

Some optional features may use artificial intelligence to read or extract information from documents such as invoices, registration documents or survey reports.

AI-generated or extracted information can be wrong, incomplete or misinterpreted. You must review and verify AI-assisted results before relying on them, saving them as records, making maintenance decisions or sharing them with another person or organisation.

8. Location, maps and trip recording

If you choose to use trip recording, VesselReady may collect GPS location while that recording is active or store location information imported from a GPX file.

Map, location and place-name information may be supplied by third-party services and may be inaccurate or unavailable. VesselReady must not be used as your sole means of navigation, position fixing or voyage planning.

9. Documents, photos and sharing

You retain ownership of content you upload to VesselReady.

You give us a non-exclusive licence to host, copy, process, display, transmit and otherwise use that content only as reasonably necessary to operate, secure, support and improve the service, comply with law, and carry out actions you request.

Vessel documents and media are private by default. If you choose to share a document or configure distribution to an organisation, you authorise VesselReady to make that document available to the selected recipient using the sharing method offered by the service. You are responsible for checking the recipient and ensuring you have authority to share the material.

10. Third-party services and links

VesselReady uses third-party services for functions such as hosting, authentication, payments, mapping, push notifications and optional AI-assisted processing.

Third-party services may have their own terms and privacy practices. We are not responsible for a third-party service to the extent a problem is caused by that third party and is outside our reasonable control, but this does not limit any rights you have against us that cannot lawfully be excluded.

11. Plans, free trial and pricing

VesselReady offers two plans: VesselReady Free and VesselReady Premium.

VesselReady Free costs $0 and has no time limit. It includes one editable boat and a core set of features, with limits on the number of documents and photos you can upload. We describe the current Free features and limits in the app.

New accounts receive a 30-day free trial of VesselReady Premium. No credit card or payment method is required to start the trial. You will not be charged automatically at the end of the trial and you will only be billed if you actively choose to upgrade to Premium.

When the trial ends, unless you have upgraded, your account automatically moves to VesselReady Free.

VesselReady Premium is billed per boat, with a choice of Monthly or Annual subscriptions. Current standard pricing is:

  • Premium Monthly: first 2 boats A$9.95 per boat per month; each additional boat from the third boat onward A$4.95 per boat per month.
  • Premium Annual: A$99 per boat per year for every boat. There is no reduced annual rate for third or subsequent boats.

Prices are in Australian dollars and include GST where applicable.

Premium is charged in advance for the selected monthly or annual period. Your subscription renews automatically each month or year, as selected, until cancelled. You authorise Stripe to charge the payment method connected to your subscription at each renewal.

We will clearly display the applicable recurring amount before you subscribe or change the number of billed boats.

12. Moving to Free and your data

If your trial ends or your Premium subscription ends, we will not delete your records merely because your account moves to VesselReady Free. Premium-only features may become restricted or read-only. For example, additional boats beyond the Free allowance may become read-only, reminders and shared ownership, scheduling and expense features may be paused, and new uploads may be blocked while you are over a Free limit. Existing records remain viewable, and Premium features become available again if you upgrade.

13. Changes to the number of boats, cancellation and refunds

If you add or remove billed boats during a subscription period, the amount and timing of any change will be shown before you confirm the change where the service provides a preview.

You may cancel through the VesselReady Billing area and Stripe Customer Portal. Unless otherwise stated at the time of cancellation, cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid billing period and you may continue to use Premium features until then. We do not provide prorated refunds for part of a billing period, except where we choose to do so or where a refund or other remedy is required by law.

We do not provide change-of-mind refunds for a period already purchased, except where we choose to do so or where a refund or other remedy is required by law.

Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantee, right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.

14. Price or service changes

We may change pricing or material features of the service. If a change materially disadvantages an existing paid subscriber, we will provide reasonable advance notice where practicable and the change will generally apply from a future renewal. You may cancel before the change takes effect.

We may make changes without advance notice where reasonably necessary for security, legal compliance, fraud prevention, urgent technical reasons or to prevent harm.

15. Availability, backups and reminders

We aim to provide a reliable service but do not promise uninterrupted or error-free availability.

Internet services, mobile networks, device settings, third-party platforms and notification providers can fail or delay messages. You should not rely on VesselReady as the only record of critical safety, compliance, insurance or maintenance information, or as the only reminder for an important deadline.

You should retain copies of documents and records that are important to you.

16. Acceptable use

You must not:

  • use VesselReady unlawfully or to facilitate unlawful activity;
  • access another person's account or vessel without authority;
  • upload malware, malicious code or content designed to disrupt the service;
  • attempt to defeat security, access controls or usage limits;
  • scrape, reverse engineer or interfere with the service except to the extent permitted by law;
  • misuse another person's personal information; or
  • use the service in a way that materially harms VesselReady, other users or third parties.

17. Suspension and termination

You may stop using VesselReady at any time.

We may suspend or restrict access where reasonably necessary because of non-payment, security risk, suspected fraud, unlawful use, serious or repeated breach of these Terms, or to protect users or the service. Where practicable, we will provide notice and an opportunity to remedy the issue.

We may terminate the service or your account on reasonable notice, subject to applicable law. If we terminate a paid service for reasons not caused by your breach, we will provide any refund or remedy required by law.

18. Your records after account closure

If an account is closed, access to some records may end. You should export or retain copies of important records before closure where possible.

We may retain information after closure where reasonably necessary for legal, accounting, security, dispute-resolution or backup purposes, as described in our Privacy Policy.

19. Consumer rights and liability

Our services come with rights and guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law where that law applies.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability, rights or remedies to the extent doing so would be unlawful.

Subject to those non-excludable rights, VesselReady is not responsible for loss to the extent it is caused by:

  • inaccurate, incomplete or outdated information entered by a user;
  • a user's failure to carry out maintenance, checks or legal obligations;
  • reliance on a reminder, checklist, AI output, score, map or third-party information as a substitute for appropriate professional judgement;
  • unauthorised sharing initiated by a user;
  • a third-party service failure outside our reasonable control; or
  • use of VesselReady contrary to these Terms or its intended purpose.

Nothing in this section reduces responsibility we may have for our own negligence, breach of contract or breach of law.

20. Intellectual property

Except for user content, VesselReady and its software, branding, design and original materials are owned by or licensed to Bulldog Marine Pty Ltd and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service for its intended purpose while your account is active.

21. Feedback

If you send feedback or suggestions, you permit us to use them to improve VesselReady without payment or obligation to you. This does not give us ownership of your vessel records, documents or personal information.

22. Privacy

Our handling of personal information is described in the VesselReady Privacy Policy. By using optional features that involve location, AI document processing, document sharing or connecting an external AI assistant, you direct us to process or disclose the relevant information as needed to provide that feature.

23. Electronic communications

You agree that account notices, invoices, service messages and other communications may be provided electronically.

Service and transactional messages may be sent where necessary to operate your account. We will not treat acceptance of these Terms as consent to receive unrelated electronic marketing. If we send commercial electronic marketing, we will comply with applicable consent and unsubscribe requirements.

24. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will identify the effective date and, for material changes affecting existing users, provide reasonable notice where practicable.

If you do not agree to a material change, you may stop using the service and cancel your subscription before the change takes effect.

25. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Western Australia and the Commonwealth of Australia. You and VesselReady submit to courts with jurisdiction in Western Australia, subject to any rights you have to bring a claim elsewhere under applicable consumer law.
